Where's the "they tried to ban" part, and who is "they"?

Felix Wankel didn't "conceptualize the rotary" - it already existed in production.

This is just another rotary engine running on hydrogen, which has been done before (see Mazda ~~2012~~2006). It's been long understood that a rotary is very well suited to fuels like hydrogen.

It does use an interesting (perhaps novel) interlocking of the rotors.

I do look forward to seeing a real working model.
