General community for news/discussion in the UK.

Less serious posts should go in !casualuk@feddit.uk or !andfinally@feddit.uk
More serious politics should go in !uk_politics@feddit.uk.

Try not to spam the same link to multiple feddit.uk communities.
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric news, and should be either a link to a reputable source, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread.

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

I gotta admit, they stopped kicking him in the head once they had secured the weapon. I kind of think it was reasonable, but do admit it sets a shaky precendence of what we allow the police to do

I think you've got your links muddled. They're both the same interview

Innocent until proven guilty hasn't been a thing in the UK for a while yeah

He was literally running about stabbing people in plain view and was resisting giving up a knife.... Other countries wouldn't have even given him the charity of attempting to disarm him

Ah i didnt see the knife when i first watched it, thought he was just curling up. Looks like a little swiss army knife or something of the sort.

The bystander just going "kill him" is wild tho.

The guy was being tasered which likely contributed to him grasping the weapon

Seeing someone from your own community just get stabbed, potentially fatally, does stir up strong emotions. I don't think we can just sit here comfortably in our own homes, watching footage of this far away and sit there judging everyone but the attacker
