Their Lego diss tracks are pretty good; I'll give them that. I don't know that they need to do anything to make the US look more foolish internationally, though. Our president is pretty good at that on his own.

I mean Trump's a moron but people assumed the US military still had some might.

Problem is the military is only as good as it's leaders and it's definitely got Trump disease.

Makes sense though since it's full of "suckers" and "losers".

people assumed the US military still had some might.

It has. But they're fighting an uphill battle.

Problem is the military is only as good as it's leaders

It should not have been put in this situation.

Lost Korea.

Lost Vietnam.

Lost Iraq.

Lost Afghanistan.

Is in the process of losing Iran.

The USA hasn't won a war since 1945, despite spending more on their military than the whole rest of the world and being constantly at war the whole time and having the best tech by a long shot.

Losing that much with all those advantages isn't "might". It's incompetence.

Lost Korea. started by Harry S. Truman

Lost Vietnam. started by Harry S. Truman

Truman, a democrat, was fighting against the spread of communism while in office. under his watchful eye McCarthyism spread along with the "red scare". All things that currently empower fascist ideologies today. I think it's fair to say that he would probably be a blue-MAGA today.

Lost Iraq. started by George W. Bush

Lost Afghanistan. started by George W. Bush

Bush, a republican. it seems his only goal was to become president. once he was, he didn't know what to do anymore and let Dick Cheney do most the work. Dick paved the way for much of the fascist rule we suffer with today.

Is in the process of losing Iran. started by Donald J. Trump

Trump, is an asshole who wants to be emperor. Need I say more?

all these wars were fought over bullshit reasons that had zero merit in being fought. maybe with the exception of Korea. Had the influence of China spread to Korea, it would have had broad repercussions on the pacific region that likely would have caused much of Asia to succumb to Chinese rule.

Truman sent advisors to Vietnam but it didn't really start winding up till Kennedy increased the amount by 10 times.

"So called" is a so called empty phrase.

I disagree with Merz. It's not Iran that humiliates US. It's their own president who started a war without a good plan. Or, more generally speaking, who started a war.

Weeeeelllllll, it's the US in general and most of it's inhabitants who have been humiliating their own country for years and years, it's just that the current clown in office is just better in self humiliation. Maybe he should get an award for it.

[–] EvergreenGuru@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

We should call the award the “Nobel Peace Prize”.🏆

[–] TigerAce@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

We should call the award the “~~Nobel~~ FIFA Peace Prize”.🏆

The Nobel peace price is still a recognized honorable prize. According to the institute granting the prize, it can't be given away or stolen.

[–] EvergreenGuru@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Honestly, the prize should be abolished. It wasn’t an original Nobel and was only added in after the fact. Both Barrack Obama and Henry Kissinger have one. So even if you start or exacerbate a war you can get one?

If they want to keep the prize around, they should ban politicians from receiving it.

[–] TigerAce@lemmy.dbzer0.com -1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

What are you on about, the Nobel peace prize is an original one according to Alfred Nobel's will. Source

You can even get the prize to motivate you to it to start a war, which happened several times in history, according to the Nobel prize committee (seen during an interview, can't remember where).

If they want to keep the prize around, they should ban politicians from receiving it.

Maybe they should hold politicians responsible for their actions and make it illegal for them to lie, and prosecute them if they do.

Politicians have a lot of influence and can help bring peace in certain situations. But in general they are people who desire power and should not hold position of power because of that.

[–] EvergreenGuru@lemmy.world -1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

It appears I mixed it up with the Economics prize.

Still, I stand by abolishing it or excluding politicians from receiving it. Your idea of holding them accountable is silly as clearly that rarely ever happens when the country is as powerful as the US. Only minor nations like the Philippines see their leaders subjected to any sort of accountability.

Your idea of holding them accountable is silly as clearly that rarely ever happens when the country is as powerful as the US.

Why is it silly? Especially in the US there's a lot of corruption in politics, so it would be really great if they were held accountable. I know it doesn't happen, but it should as it would make politics a lot more clean and honest.

"We should do something about it!"

"that's silly, because no one is doing something about it already."

Right...

[–] EvergreenGuru@lemmy.world 0 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I’m self-righteous, because I believe in the impossible, but I also admit the impossible doesn’t happen.

Make up your mind. It’s either possible and you’re going to do it, or it’s impossible and beyond your ability to change.

Tell us your big brain plan to arrest George W. Bush, Condaleeza Rice, Barack Obama, Hilary Clinton, Joe Biden, Antony Blinken, Donald Trump, Rex Tillerson, Marco Rubio, Benjamin Netanyahu, and Yoav Gallant to bring them to The Hague.

The silly part is saying “somehow, someday, someone will do something.”

I’m not doing anything. You’re not doing anything. Nothing’s getting done.

If power shifts and some of these people get held accountable, then it’s because they lost power due to some geopolitical maneuvering by anti-US/Israel nations (axis of resistance, etc.), not because I became an accountability officer.

[–] TigerAce@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

You're right. It should be forbidden to think of ways to improve the world if you're not capable of making the changes immediately yourself. Sticking with corrupt politicians is for sure the best way to go, we should all support them.

By the way, how far are you with canceling the Nobel peace prize for politicians?

You say: We should stop giving politicians the peace prize.

I say: It would be better if we change the system to make politicians more honest, responsible, accountable.

I strive to make the system better which will improve everyone's lives. You strive to stop giving symbolic prizes to politicians which will improve what exactly?

Yeah, I'm the silly one.

Have a nice day mate.

[–] mrdown@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 weeks ago

With or without a good plan. The war is illegal

[–] Fleur_@aussie.zone 1 points 2 weeks ago

[–] mrdown@lemmy.dbzer0.com -1 points 2 weeks ago

[–] GreenKnight23@lemmy.world -1 points 2 weeks ago
