one thing to note is that Valve's shader pre-compilation and sharing is available to all Linux computers running Steam, not just the Steam Deck. It's been available for some time before the Steam Deck's launch.

This Nvidia tool takes your existing shader cache and recompiles it in case of driver (or GPU) change so it’s kind of different to what fossilize does. It might be more viable on a platform with more hardware and driver variety and IIRC Microsoft is still working on shader cache sharing via DirectX.
