Geometry adjusted, emulators optimized for 240p. This consumer 14" CRT doesn't show great scanlines but if you play very near is good.

This Blueretro adapter works very good on GameCube slots for bluetooth controllers like my 8Bitdo Pro2.

I learned PSX emulation isn't very good on Wii so not the definitive 240p retroconsole but it covers a lot for very cheap.

I find it amusing how engineers who developed CRT technology worked to try and minimise and hide scan lines and now people simulating or reusing the technology get annoyed that they aren't visible enough!

I've actually always preferred a look with minimal scan lines but there's no question that pixel art looks significantly better on CRT.

You can have good pixelart on flat screens using shaders but yeah, CRTs are great.

Yeah, that's very interesting and also a personal preference but to me good scanlines are always appreciated. I picked this 14" and it looks great but I'm curious to try a slightly bigger model to compare the scanlines experience, I'm thinking about a 20" mostly for 480i gen.

I know exactly where you are in that level.

I think most people who have played this game know this location 😂

Isn't it pretty much where you start in the game for the first time?

In Brinstar, just between the morph ball and the starting elevator? Well, yeah.

This exact spot (along with a few rooms around it) exists in Super Metroid too, with an added eye thingy that alerts the space pirates that Samus has returned.

I love this

I've heard it can be very dangerous to touch inside, use precautions!

Oh yes very. I popped the back off for now to take a look, I'm making a discharge tool this weekend. Its been unplugged for a month but obviously there could be stored energy. I'll still discharge it twice to be sure. Its filthy!!
