Just had a random blue heeler (had a collar, someone's pet) rock up in the back yard here.

It freaked out when I went out to say hello.

It had 2 options.

jump off the patio (about 0.5m off the ground) which it was close to doing.

Or lean in to the situation and get pats.

It chose pats.

Good doggo.

It chose wisely.

I needed those pats.

I love this, glad that dog could come by for some much needed pats!

Cbf cooking tonight. Fush & chups here I come. Prices have gone up from a couple of weeks ago - by $5 for my favorite pack of 1 flake, 1 scallop, 1 prawn, 1 crab stick and chips. Was $14, now $19. Mind you, the chips serve is generous and all are well cooked to order. If it goes over $20 I might go on strike and forgo buying again.

EDIT: got to the shop - price had just been increased to $21!! This is the last f&c for a long long while. It was good, but $21 worth of good??

Merry xtra long weekend for those who participate 🍺

boys broke out of the dining room four times. Ate a bag of bread. Went nuts.

I gave up and let them in the lounge. His Lordship and I were planning that anyway, and wanted to do together but they were seriously going off their tiny little shits. And then even further in the lounge which is full of cat things. Cerys was sacked out in His Lordship's office, so no conflicts there, although one of the breakouts they did rampage into that room and Cerys basically sat there and watched them (no hissies, relaxed body language, chill AF after I rounded them up).

anway today so far they've ripped my original Futurama poster, murdered a loaf of sourdough, tipped over a bottle of soy sauce, ripped a curtain sheer, eaten their own body weight in freeze dried chicken hearts and max also accidentally shoved his balls in sam's mouth (it's a whole thing I can explain if you want) but yeah. They passed out, dead asleep and we've got a hopeful view for the introductions this weekend.

Ginger twins. On purpose. Does this count as a self-inflicted wound?

[–] Taleya@aussie.zone 9 points 5 days ago (1 children)

They are innocent. No crimes

[–] Eagle@aussie.zone 3 points 5 days ago

Oh, I love them. They're perfect!

[–] LowExperience2368@aussie.zone 3 points 5 days ago (1 children)

How can you not forgive these babies? 😻

[–] Taleya@aussie.zone 4 points 5 days ago (2 children)

what is there to forgive? being babies? Being silly ginger babies? Pah!

Btw, we found out at the vet they're SIX months old, not three. So Sammy's gonna be a small boi, even losing his balls that late (they were neutered a week before we met them for the first time).

Hilariously the vet that neutered them does it differently to the vet we usually see. They scooped 'em out but left the sacs. So they have tiny empty pom poms still there. And Sammy makes sure you see them. All the time. 24/7/ 365 it's sammy ballvision.

Made a cheeky run to get milk before I inevitably run out tomorrow when the shops are shut

[–] Alamutjones@aussie.zone 5 points 5 days ago

Sometimes I just know I’m driving some poor person absolutely insane.

People submit claims en masse. I - your friendly neighbourhood desk monkey at an insurance company - assess those claims. I send letters or emails as required, if I can’t pay anything, explaining why I can’t pay anything.

Someone is about to get twelve emails in their inbox all at once, all saying no.

@melbaboutown@aussie.zone the spray came today! I hit up the rug in the hallways and ok just to preface I'm ASD and strong smells are very much a rage trigger for me.

but: Sprayed the rug and right off the bat this stuff smells exactly like the Sunday Very Vanilla body wash. . It is not cloying or overly chemical, it does not outstay its welcome. It's strong off the bat, but fades rapidly.

So far no noticeable Chemical Toilet Smell like you usually get with flea killers. Also a plus. I am occasionally catching a whiff of vanilla, but it's in a pleasant way. Do recommend on sniffability.

the evenings at the beach have been lovely

and I was so happy to find all the little sea anemones are still living in the rock pools, I was worried as they had been covered with sand for a few months, the little pools are open again

I'm going to the Italian supermarket, does anyone need anything?

[–] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 3 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Pakige on board for delivery.

I think this is my new cast iron griddle pan, which will help me make bigger tortillas (amoungst other things). I also got lots of stuff yesterday, most notably a new tofu press, and also a lot of pairs of cheap sandles to wear around the house. I might have gone a touch overboard on those, so a few pairs have been put away in the cupboard for when the first lot wear out.

spoilerI wasn’t able to vacuum much while Melbcat was alive. I’ve done a lot now but concentrated on the main areas so missed the strip between the wall and our bed. It’s full of crumbs from the treats I used to feed her in bed, and her hairs. I picked over with my fingers and saved another of her little whiskers. Angel wishes.

I’m tempted to leave it like that. It’s like a time capsule of our life together. The last one.

I still can’t accept this.
