Welcome to The Shitpost Office

Shitposts processed from 9 to 5, with occasional overtime on weekends.

Rule 1: Be Civil, Not SinisterTreat others like fellow employees, not enemies in the breakroom.

  • No harassment, dogpiling, or brigading
  • No bigotry (transphobia, racism, sexism, etc.)
  • Respect people’s time and space. We’re here to laugh, not to loathe

Rule 2: No Prohibited PostageSome packages are simply undeliverable. That means:

  • No spam or scams
  • No porn or sexually explicit content
  • No illegal content
  • NSFW content must be properly tagged

If you see anything that violates these rules, please report it so we can return it to sender. Otherwise? Have fun, be silly, and enjoy the chaos. The office runs best when everyone’s laughing.... or retching over the stench, at least.

Technically, the average human body contains slightly less than enough bones to make an entire skeleton.

Because, after all, the average human has slightly less than 2 legs and slightly less than 2 arms.

Two eyes, two ears, a chin, a mouth, ten fingers, two nipples. A butt, two kneecaps, a penis…

I have just described to you the Loch Ness Monster. And the reward for its capture? All the riches in Scotland. So I have but one question: Why are you here?

[–] bizarroland@lemmy.world 17 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Almost an entire skeleton. 99.9% of a skelton on average.

I dunno... It could be 100.01% if extra bones are more common?

[–] rkw_social@lemmy.ca 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I'm gonna guess that amputations are more common than having extra bones. Especially given the world we live in

[–] Beacon@fedia.io 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I'm not at all sure about that. According to sources i see, extra bones occur in roughly 10 to 30% people.

Before we clarify the average, we must define what an entire skeleton means. If some people have 'extra' bones - who says that this isn't the baseline and the majority is lacking some?

[–] Beacon@fedia.io 1 points 1 day ago

According to the article the extra bones provide no additional function and just cause pain. I'd say that will qualifies as being extra
