It's not always the case. Sometimes people believe in truly vile and harmful political policies but are actually decent supportive parents.
Personally Hegseth doesn't seem like that type to me, and seems like he's probably also an off the hinge dick at home, but you never know.
This is something I have wondered quite often when it comes to shit politicians.
I lowkey kinda wonder it about any kid with a super famous/rich parent
