ttrpg
Tabletop Rpg posts, content, and recruitment posts.
Recruitment posts should contain what system is being played, CW for any adult/serious themes players need to be aware of and whether a game is beginner friendly.
An obvious reminder of no racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia and transphobia.
Emphasis on small independent rpgs like the ones in the TTRPGs for Trans Rights in Texas but not against dnd stuff.
I'm always into FATE for this kind of thing
I might be a dumbass, but I genuinely cannot figure out how to navigate that site
As a user experiencer this is beyond frustrating
Oh, goddamnit, there's a table of contents at the bottom. I load from the top to choose content, and the bottom to access into it
Look into Savage Worlds
Came here to suggest Savage Worlds also.
not really lightwight (nor is it heavy) but this kind of thing is explicitly what Delta Green was made for
How does it work without the supernatural and horror elements? I always thought those were pretty essential to the system.
shit my brain got mis-wired i mean Twilight 2k you are correct delta green is the cthulhu one
Reading it into, it seems off. Key mechanics seem built around survival, map traversal, and base building as scrappy leftovers of an apocalypse. Maybe there's something in there I can hack apart, but I'm not really looking to put in that much work tuning a system. I'd really just like something that's straightforward infiltration, spec-ops, extraction type shit with discrete "missions" and a twinge of sci-fi tech.
yeah, i can see that. im about to start a game of Everyday Heroes in like a month and that might work but ive never played the system before. might be another one to look at.
Also, Savage Worlds is another good one someone else suggested. it's setting neutral and modular and is tried and true. runs pretty smoooth in the two short campaigns i was in and isn't too crunchy
I think Brigador Killers had a ttrpg too. Might wanna look into that, even though the vibes are reversed.
Also depends on what you're going for - Power fantasy or gritty action with death around the corner? If it's the latter you could do with Dread maybe?
I tried Vampire The Masquerade where the GM had reskinned all the vampire powers to tech-stuff. Was pretty fun.
If it's a one-shot you could also do One Last Job. Lots of fun
You might need to mess with it a bit but what about Twilight 2K?
If you want it to be narratively driven there's certainly a PBTA strain out there for this. Otherwise this fits the bill for Delta Green almost perfectly. Stars Without Number if you file off the spaceships could do it reasonably well.
