I went from average height guy (5'10) to tall lady (5'8" thank you HRT) and managed to come out shorter than my spouse (5'9) so I believe all you ladies can find the shorter-queen relationships you wanna be in! lol

I'm the same height. I'm just gonna get some Pleasers and go for 7 feet lol

I went from a short man to a statistically above average woman, who feels at least the same height as every other woman or shorter still somehow.

You do shrink a centimeter or 2 on e

as the one on the right, even though i tower over even most of the guys i encounter i still really REALLY wanna get some of those absurd height raising shoes.

i'd say the primary drawback of being so tall is that if you wanna hold someone, unless they're also super tall you have to kneel/squat down SO much. the long arms more than make up for it though hehe

on that note, while this is kinda a side tangent, if you dear reader wanna be able to hold someone too, my five cents is to work on your core strength!! while you are technically picking the person up, do remember that they are also climbing you like a tree to an extent, and you need to keep yourself sturdy. walking around with the additional weight of another person is also quite tricky, so i encourage you to get a mat(tress), have someone you like come over, and have fun together :3c

Be the tall girl with lifted shoes. I got my platform doc martens today and I'm so happy with them.

Omg I have the perfect person to send this to but I don't want to cause her height dysphoria...

I have to ask - what counts as "tall" for a trans girl (and a girl generally)? Is there a range or a consensus on what counts as tall?

[–] TotallynotJessica@lemmy.blahaj.zone 10 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Probably not. I used to be average for a man, but as a woman I'm definitely on the taller side. The bigger problem is that I often feel tall around women, even if I'm not that abnormal.

I always hear women wanting to date men over 6 feet (that's 1.8 meters, for the enlightened among us), so I've internalized that there is at least some kind of consensus or norm that men aren't tall unless they're over 6' tall. But I don't know whether men have a height preference for women, or that they would only date women who are X feet or shorter, for example.

I'm like you, average height for a man, but tall for a woman.

I moved somewhere that women are generally much taller and larger, so it has been nice being among "giants" like this - I feel like I just no longer exist in a social context where I am perceived as tall anymore 😄

but I still feel insecure about it - I wish I were much smaller all around
