If I were the president of FIFA, after hearing these words, I would award Trump the Nobel Peace Prize uwu

Well if this is not the "deny reality" level, I do not know what it is

FIFA fucked itself hard by getting inline to lick boot. This World Cup was already looking like a disaster, wait until the first knife attacks start happening in line to those matches

knife attacks

That's not how we do things in the US. :-(

[–] Jhex@lemmy.world 1 points 9 hours ago

I just said that because it's the minimum common denominator of an attack... literally no way to stop it and, with large gatherings for the soccer matches, plenty of opportunity for atrocities before getting anywhere near the security lines

But you are correct, in the USA, anyone could have some assault rifle and simply mow people down

Welcome to play, might possibly get torpedoed by Hegseth on their way home. Who knows?

Felt cute, might war crime later.

The fact that Infantino believes Trump shows yet again just how stupid he (Infantino) is. I never thought FIFA could do worse than Sepp Blatter. Man was I wrong!

[–] Mihies@programming.dev 11 points 16 hours ago

Stupid? No. Evil and sadistic? Yes, big time.

He doesn't care if trump is lying and throws the Iranian players into a concentration camp. He just wants to be able to tell them trump said it's ok.

Why should Trump's opinion matter the fact it does shows something.

Because they'll be in the US and subject to the little king's ICE secret police?

I thought we stopped doing world cups in 2018?

I boycotted the last two WCs. Sadly, I'm going to boycott this one as well.
