Oh cool. More manufacturer specific features to lock consumers to Nvidia. Because RTX and DLAA have been soooo good for the gaming industry.

Pity nobody can afford better cards from Nvidia or anybody else anymore then.

[–] newthrowaway20@lemmy.world 11 points 2 days ago

It won't matter if someone else makes a better card when features like mega geometry and RTX are only available on Nvidia cards.

Honestly if anyone is still willingly supporting nvidia they deserve what they get

[–] xxce2AAb@feddit.dk 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Agreed, but with AMD apparently jumping on the "AI" bandwagon and Intel being... Intel, we aren't exactly spoiled for choice right now. Besides, Nvidia's financial shenanigans ultimately hits everybody right in the DRAM equally anyway.

Yeah, its not a great time to be purchasing PC hardware :/

They went with UE5 so they can recruit in the US instead of EU, unsurprisingly they are happy to take some of that gree mullah to boost financials. UE5 is already a pile of trash, add some proprietary black box tech to it and now we're all sure the stutterfest is guaranteed. Already bought the popcorn to watch the ship sink.

Expect fake "criticism" to make you buy the game for activism, that's the default marketing shenaningan.

Who gives a shit? Computer graphics have peaked a long time ago. Anything slapped on top is just the tech industry trying to generate value where there is none.

Huh. So I won't be playing the Witcher 4. Oh well, I kinda suspect that Witcher 3 was lightning in a bottle that they'll NEVER replicate.

[–] Tim_Bisley@piefed.social 6 points 1 day ago

I enjoyed Witcher 2 as well. I only played it once though. I've played witcher 3 several times now.

I honestly don't get the overwhelming praise for Witcher 3. It was, like, good overall but I had a lot of nits to pick with it that everyone seems to overlook.

I only played a few hours, don't really understand the hype. Maybe having read some of the books made me less curious?

[–] alphabethunter@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

I played the first 20h, of which there was a solid 4h where I was not in control of my character, and a lot of immersion breaking bad game design elements (Griffon quest was particularly jarring). So I dropped it and never understood the hype either. CP2077 was yet another reminder that CDPR game design is mid at best.

[–] msmc101@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 1 day ago
