Just tried the new ride on mower down here. Old one carked it.

We are no longer going 4km/h but 6km/h. Basically the Ferrari of the mower world. Have to slow down when turning the corner on rabbit / hare mode.

It's also red so will have to put some flame decals on.

[โ€“] Thornburywitch@aussie.zone 3 points 3 weeks ago

And overhead foxtail.

Make sure you've got safety gear on. The extra 2km is a killer.

Aced it๐Ÿ‘

I'm doing all the right things, am allowed to take more allergy meds if I want. Will keep a food diary for a month. I might be alright just by being careful what I eat and taking allergy meds when I want.

Didn't get the testing today, might in a month's time.

Question: do you sleep

  1. clothed
  2. undie-d
  3. nude
  4. PJs

Just curious after seeing a post on the other place about how 2/3 millennials sleep nude.

I am one. Even if it's the middle of winter. I get all twisted up in clothes, tangled, and I run hot so I just end up sweaty lol

Pjs. It's a well known phenomenon that as your body temp cools down, this triggers sleep, and yet I find myself waking sweaty nearly all year round. Pjs keep the sheets cleaner. Bedding I keep to the absolute minimum for the season/temperature, and in layers so adjustable. And I MUST have an open window all year round. I've frequently been too warm to sleep, but rarely if ever too cool to sleep. Maybe I'm weird.

PJs now but used to be nude. Dunno, I get cold and I have soft comfy jammies.

PJ bottoms and a comfy t shirt on top for me. I run warm in bed but naked feels too cold.

[โ€“] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 4 points 3 weeks ago

Good luck. Hope you get some answers.

[โ€“] SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 4 points 3 weeks ago

Good luck!!!

[โ€“] Catfish@aussie.zone 2 points 3 weeks ago

Are you getting the huge itchy back thing? Luck!!

[โ€“] SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 6 points 3 weeks ago

Holy crap it's stunning outside. Had lunch with Boyo at a cafe and we both considered blowing off work for the arvo to go and sit on a patio somewhere. Sadly I'm back at my desk.

Can't remember if I posted this before but it came up today

I think I fixed the dishwasher. It appears to be working now. ๐Ÿคž I got the front wheels off the pram to soak and scrub them after the dog shit incident but not the back wheels. I know how to but they're stuck so I've put cooking oil to soak in to those parts and will just have to move that to the back area of the lino for when I mop. If I have to chuck the base I have a spare one from where the carrier part of that got ruined.

TW mental health

My sleep pattern is so bad and my mental health has been worse. I've been randomly having anxiety and grief crashouts so bad I puke but also desperately trying to regain some control and fix everything to try and ease my mind. Been talking with people about Melbcat and showing cute photos of her but nothing seems to help. I wish I could just cry normally, break down and howl like an animal but it doesn't feel safe to do that with the people in my block.

It has never in my life been safe to stop and fully openly grieve and usually I've had to compartmentalise to survive the next immediate crisis. https://www.tumblr.com/sometiktoksarevalid/803770369219624960

I had a bad day again and napped. Festy sink dishes are washing in the shitty but now functional dishwasher. Prised the stuck wheels off with a butter knife and put them in the laundry sink. Tea towels on to wash. I feel like shit and just want my cat back.

Day 5

The nicotine spray is effective.

A couple more weeks and the spray can go as well.

[โ€“] SaneMartigan@aussie.zone 4 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Can you get weaker sprays? Or open it up and dilute it with water? I used to cut nic-patches down instead of buying weaker patches.

Feels like someone is driving a knife into my lung through my left shoulder blade, even hurts to breathe a bit. No way I punctured my lung by just sleeping on my arm or crooking my neck funny, but I'm catastrophising because wow the pain is sharp.

Why do I have to sleep like a bread knot lol

Edit: check out this sick pic of the moon I took. Love how it's like, almost perfectly set in the gap between my balcony roof and the building next door

I just think it's neat

[โ€“] SaneMartigan@aussie.zone 3 points 3 weeks ago

Subscapularis and serratus anterior are the muscles in the area. Could also be rib head / vertebrae articulations.

Poi or club bells are good shoulder mobility exercises. Else time heals most things.

[โ€“] melbaboutown@aussie.zone 2 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago) (3 children)

Are you hypermobile?

I get that since childhood and it turned out to be a stiffness/subluxation in a tiny joint where a rib was attached to my spine. Sometimes it can crunch back into place naturally or with gentle stretching. Another time it was a bit more stubborn and needed to be adjusted by a physio. (Avoid chiropractors.)

It's not dangerous but hurts like a bitch

Cbf doing any real cooking tonight, so I've shoved tonight's meatballs in a foil envelope in the oven with diced spuds and carrots and some garlic/chilli/onion mince and a dribble of olive oil. Smelling very nice now it's cooking. Will eat with rice tonight and maybe tomorrow in a wrap. Still got maybe half an hour to go before its ready.

Heading into the CBD this morning - haven't been on public transport in months, usually work from home.

Sure enough, delays of >10m just announced due to equipment issues.

And people wonder why RTO mandates are so unpopular. Shonky PT is just one of the many reasons.

Up since 3. Gnawing on raw tortellini. Cats attempting to manifest the food robot. Boyo on day 2 of giant tonka truck course. Pokรฉmon is stuffed. Think I should re-dye my hair. And seal the banister. And start the new Lego. It's gonna be a day.

[โ€“] Alamutjones@aussie.zone 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Is raw tortelliniโ€ฆsafe to eat?

thanks for the reminder

I want to like AnySoftKeyboard but it makes it hard. The app's menus are a mess and it has looked and felt different on every phone I've used it on. Right now on the vacuum phone the themes and suggestions only show up in some apps and I have to manually type everything out the rest of the time. Who knew creating a keyboard app with swipe was so hard?

another day, another reddit ban, this time for making a joke about why isn't someone dead yet

[โ€“] SaneMartigan@aussie.zone 3 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

You only get so many before they permanently ban you. I assume you were talking about the pumpkin paedophile king of America?

[โ€“] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 2 points 3 weeks ago

I may have been

[โ€“] PeelerSheila@aussie.zone 2 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

Let me guess: an orange politician?

Edit: just read SaneMartigan's comment and your response. Should have done so before responding. I also look at the daily news and wonder how long until.

[โ€“] Alamutjones@aussie.zone 3 points 3 weeks ago

Slow start at work today. I need coffee

[โ€“] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 3 points 3 weeks ago

[โ€“] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 2 points 3 weeks ago

It's been a little over 2 weeks without sugar. I am eating watermelon like never before though. So far so good.

[โ€“] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 2 points 3 weeks ago

tongue burns

allergic to soy milk perhaps

[โ€“] tombruzzo@aussie.zone 2 points 3 weeks ago

I came in at lunchtime and my laptop still isn't ready so I'm just chilling.

WTF, I love Windows now? (When it's on someone else's computer at least)
