Our city is beautiful. I remember seeing Tokyo from their metro government building and thinking about how small Melbourne is in comparison.

I have finally been able to harvest my first ripe tomato of the season

teaspoon for scale

That is a comically large spoon

[–] SituationCake@aussie.zone 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Will you binge it in one sitting or save half for later?

[–] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 3 points 1 day ago

Eating the whole thing in one go seems a big much. I think at least two meals.

Yeah so unintended side effect of quitting vaping is I need to learn to control my singing voice again.

Frustrating.

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

This is good tho , isnt it?

Long term absolutely.

But I have re adjust how I form notes in my throat. That's the frustrating part.

Doing what I normally do is off pitch.

I have gymed. Great success.

New trainer is lovely. I like her

[–] Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Well. That was humbling lol

Teacher is cool but yeah, lot of work to do.

Yup.

When you're self taught it's easy to forget there are better ways of doing things.

[–] tombruzzo@aussie.zone 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Sometimes being self taught is worse up front because there are so many bad habits to break

That's what the teacher said lol

[–] LowExperience2368@aussie.zone 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Cool. I did a few singing lessons back in the day but I really want to learn how to project my voice. Am considering doing a couple.

I'll keep posting about my progress to see if this guy is any good. I've gone there for technique and to learn vocal fry

Looks like my work laptop has won the Windows 11 brick lottery

[–] tombruzzo@aussie.zone 5 points 1 day ago

Yep, so now it's home time and late start tomorrow

In person went OK. We'll see what happens.

[–] StudChud@aussie.zone 3 points 1 day ago

Brother, your church bells are a minute early.

[–] Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 11 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Alrighty.

Let's see what happens.

think I'll go into the city and get some walking exercise and do a few errands

I don't deny the news lately, life lately, has been tough, and it's hard to get motivated

I like my new car. It’s fun to drive, looks cute, sounds great.

STOP BEEPING AT ME.I just wish that it would shut the fuck up. I don’t need to be told every time there’s a speed change. I don’t need to be beeped at every time I go 1km over the limit. Stop telling me there’s a line near me. Why do I care if my door is open for a moment while I check something and the engine is off.

Thankfully most of it can be switched off pretty easily, but oh my god it’s so fucking annoying and has to be done every time I start the car. I want to drive a car, not have a car telling me how to drive.

There's this American guy (or maybe Canadian, I'm no good at telling the accents apart) sitting in the co-working open plan area today (in a group of 4) and he is literally SHOUTING his conversation. Non-stop talking since I arrived. I will be getting no work done today. I think I'm going to move for the day instead of asking them to STFU, I don't feel like a confrontation.

[–] SaneMartigan@aussie.zone 5 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Canuks tend to be less cunty like that, sounds American to me.

[–] MeanElevator@aussie.zone 3 points 1 day ago

True for the most part. There are assholes amongst us, but we tend to be quieter in public.

Yanks don't have indoor voices.

Vacuum cleaner has arrived as well I bought it for my kids to play with, aren't they lucky I'd upgrade my whole phone just to get them a new toy?

[–] Alamutjones@aussie.zone 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

In happier news, one of my neighbours has an assistance dog in training, and I've just witnessed him doing something very impressive.

Abraham (and the L-Plates On His Harness) is figuring out lift buttons. He can call the elevator

[–] Eagle@aussie.zone 2 points 1 day ago

Very clever boy!

[–] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 3 points 1 day ago (3 children)

The glass plate I made has just turned 7 (according to Facebook)

That was a very enjoyable afternoon class, and the plate is now my fruit bowl in the kitchen. It doesn't feel like seven years ago. I spent a couple of months long service leave staying at home and doing lots of classes and activities locally, it was a lot of fun.

[–] PeelerSheila@aussie.zone 2 points 1 day ago

I love the colours and style!

[–] SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 3 points 1 day ago

That's so pretty!! That sounds like a great way to use lsl. I want to try one of those painting or pour sessions.

Coming at you from the new vacuum cleaner phone

[–] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 5 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I heard that phone really sucks.

[–] tombruzzo@aussie.zone 3 points 1 day ago

The accessories you can get for it certainly do
