We had a cat named Jake, who LOVED baby kittens. He was always bringing them home. That's unusual, because most Toms will kill kittens that aren't theirs.

I once saw a post from someone who worked at a Shelter, and they said that they had been trained to watch out for the rare male cats that protect kittens, they are helpful in a shelter, teaching and playing with the kittens.
