In 10-20 years America is going to have a huge terrorism problem, and do you know which of their allies will come to help?

None of them.

When another building or two get taken out keep your fucking planes out of Canada. You're not welcome in our homes anymore.

The problem is, the European vassals will probably join in, even if they were not consulted. And when the terrorist attacks start they can just piggyback Islamophobia to get elected, while ignoring the geopolitical conditions that created it. We've seen it before.

Everyone in my circles is pissed I guess that's the difference between a government and it's people though.

[–] mrdown@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

If i wanted to mean the people , i would have said the people in the west

Seems needlessly defenseive especially with your clarification edit to the original message but go off.

[–] mrdown@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I still mention countries in my edit not people. I am supposed to say what I didn't mean instead of saying that I never meant the people. Is thst what you call defensive?

[–] KindnessisPunk@piefed.ca 1 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

You seem to think I disagree with you, which I don't, I was more just adding nuance to the point for other people.

Then your second comment made it feel defensive with the clarification that's all.

The cynical part of me feels like this is by design to justify future erosion of rights and privacy

[–] SpacetimeMachine@lemmy.world 10 points 1 month ago

Oh it's absolutely purposeful. It's been our MO for literally decades now. Not only for the erosion of privacy but also the promotion of even more conflict which generates tons of wealth for the defense industry.

bold of you to assume america will exist in 20yrs.

[–] queermunist@lemmy.ml 10 points 1 month ago

Maybe it'll split up, and there will be more Americas in 20 years!
