Brains are stupid.

"You have so much to do! Better do task one! Or two! Maybe three! What about four?

...

...

...

Or how about you ignore them all and do a hair mask for the first time in, like, 5 years. Go on. That'll make all of your problems vanish. And by vanish I mean continue to stack up."

Goddamn my hair better feel amazing tomorrow.

I made juuuust enough pasta to act as a vessel for my delicious ratatouille

[–] Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 5 points 2 hours ago

Tried veg gyoza and calamari (shitty store bought) in the airfryer tonight.

Verdict:

I think the gyoza need to be done normally (pan fry -> steam -> bit more pan fry) but was okay, the calamari worked very well. 200c for 8-10mins from frozen.

This probably won't work, but I can't make it worse, so...

If it's already broken, you're learning how they work. And you can put the battery in the correct bin at the tip.

I’ve had a wildly unproductive workday and I need to stare at a wall

Just ran into a dude I haven't seen since year 12.

Turns out my group wasn't the only wild ones after all.

TW Pet deathMelbcat had too many health issues for treatment to give her a good quality of life. She was peacefully put to sleep while I held her. Thank you for all your well wishes and for loving her too.

πŸ«‚πŸ«‚πŸ«‚πŸ«‚πŸ«‚πŸ«‚πŸ«‚πŸ«‚ I’m so sorry. You’ve done your best. She is now in a painless place watching over you.

I’m so so sorry. It’s devastating loosing a pet. It will be so hard, but you know that she was loved and cared for, the best life a cat could have. Sending hugs.

[–] tone212_@aussie.zone 5 points 4 hours ago

I’m so sorry, you gave her an incredible life. Just know we’re all here to support you during this time.

[–] SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 6 points 5 hours ago

Sending you so much gentle love, Melba. She was so deeply cared for by you, so incredibly loved. You made every decision with the best of intentions for her. Please take care of yourself, grieve but know you did everything out of love for her. Rest well, little one.

[–] tombruzzo@aussie.zone 7 points 5 hours ago

I hope you're doing alright. You cared for her so much and gave her the best possible life a cat could ask for

[–] imoldgreeeg@aussie.zone 9 points 6 hours ago

Nothing else to add but we loved her too. Rest now little one. No more pain. And to go out being held in all that love you have for her is a gift. Now you rest and be gentle and scream into this void all you need. You did good Melba

[–] StudChud@aussie.zone 8 points 6 hours ago

Sending so much love and my condolences. You gave her the best life possible. Being there with her in the end would have been such a comfort.

[–] Eagle@aussie.zone 6 points 7 hours ago

Oh Melba. I am so very sorry to hear that. Your love for her knew no bounds and she had a wonderful life with you as her servant.

Mulching is done!

I have a couple of mounds at the back to spread out once the pumpkin is out of that patch of garden. It turned out to be a pretty good amount (2m^2^) and covered the garden and a narrow path along the back fence behind the vegie garden.

Cleaning up the driveway was a bit tiring, as leaves from the mulch blew around everywhere and I had some bonus sand that was in the truck from it's last delivery. I had to sweep the whole lot down, and ended up doing the entrance area and sweeping down the walls which had a lot of dust and cobwebs too.

Thanks. It's amazing how much some of the plants have grown since I put them in. Its only been about 4 1/2 months since they were planted and they all started as small tubestock.

follow appointment for arthritis done

I'm on this πŸ‘

Had 2 recruiters call me today.

Let's hear what they have to say.

[–] Catfish@aussie.zone 6 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

Fuck this white eyebrow shit. I refuse to morph into John Howard.

[–] Eagle@aussie.zone 6 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

Lol, the only place I get greys. I had to stop plucking them, so now they're dyed!

[–] Catfish@aussie.zone 5 points 10 hours ago (4 children)

I have dye, but there is also a texture and length difference issue. The plucking shall continue! To a certain point....

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 4 points 9 hours ago (3 children)

Next time you're at the hairdresser ask them to trim them. They do it with the clippers.

[–] MeanElevator@aussie.zone 7 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

At my my barber shop (all Iraqis and Lebanese) when I get my bread trimmed I always forget about the eyebrows.

Thankfully the boys always remind me. I asked one if they're really bushy, his answer 'Brother, I'm Arab, if I tell you it's hairy...believe me'

Bless them

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 3 points 8 hours ago* (last edited 8 hours ago) (1 children)

My husband wasn't aware that he needed his trimmed until the hairdresser said to him once "you want eyebrows done too?" Now he's addicted.

[–] MeanElevator@aussie.zone 2 points 8 hours ago

It's the best.

[–] Catfish@aussie.zone 3 points 9 hours ago (2 children)

So like 15 years ago. Very helpful.

[–] Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 4 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

With you on that. Saved a fortune.

Trick for me is have a few glasses of wine before cutting.. all about the unique cut. Looks great until I wake up the next day.

[–] Catfish@aussie.zone 4 points 9 hours ago

$500 haircuts is unsustainable!

Sometimes there is drunken fringe wonkiness, just use a mussy style until it sorts itself out

I do this myself. Once or twice I've ended up with no eyebrows, which isn't the best look for me.

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 3 points 9 hours ago

Ha ha ha. That's why you pay a professional to do it.

I'm getting nuuuuuuuthing done today. I need to start doing things or today is going to go so so so slowly. Strange how doing nothing at work makes time crawl, doing nothing at home makes time fly.

Maybe a coffee first.
