Yeah. I feel bad being to harsh when some tried to make something, but I thought this was going to be describing what the show would be like if it was written and produced now. Reacting to a 30 year old show as though it we're made now is not only far less funny, it makes no sense. Yeah: TV production was very different 30 years ago. If it were made now, it wouldn't be made that way.
that's the opposite of the point he's trying to make. he's not critiquing TNG, he's parodying bad faith critiques of modern trek by showing how easy it is to turn those criticisms on the show those same people claim to love. he gets especially meta when comparing TNG to TOS, claiming "TOS would never do that" but every single example is something the original series also did. turns out star trek was always about compassion and inclusivity!
I don't think anything he's talking about in the video is particularly unique to the way TV production was 30 years ago.
A little long, so I listened to it at 1.5x speed. I think it only enhanced the character.
"I'm so sincerely mad about this right now! EEUR!"
"You know, I heard they cancelled it already" 🤣
From what I understand, the showrunner was secretly fired in 2017, but they just can't stop him from showing up to work!
