Roblox could avoid so much shit if they just REMOVED THE DAMN CHAT FUNCTION!!!!

Never in my childhood did I need to chat with strangers in a game. Sure, you could chat on runescape, or any decent mmorpg at the time, but the chat was moderated, and key point, they weren't hotbeds for child predators

Governments introduce surveillance with the reason to protect children. If they really cared about children, then they would do something on Roblox. Or are most governments not aware?

Depends on the government involved: Roblox tax money factory for US government, which considering a certain island, currently aren't too keen get in too many details in wealthy predators.

(Each government around the worlds got their own, BTW)

Again "think of the children". Besides how many laws and "pragmatic precedents" use that as an excuse, shouldn't the parents moderate what their children do online, and not the State?

Parents should be monitoring their children. I did and after some of the things I saw on Roblox (adult themes including simulated rape) I no longer allow my children to play.

Shouldn't companies protect children from predators when they find out what is happening on their platform? I mean it is the law and all.

Laws only work when they're enforced.

Very true and reigning in corporations has been nothing more than an afterthought for the last 40 years

Yes, parents should moderate their children. But the state should aid where it can. It just depends on "how". In example children should not be allowed to go into a casino. And that's by law. Or do you want a situation where this is allowed by law and then "yeaaah, parents should moderate their children, not the government".

The problem, however, is that such reasoning of the State taking the initiative happens too frequently in several parts of the world, e.g. for ID scans that have been gaining traction since October from what I can gather. As when a coincidence happens too often, chances are it isn't a coincidence, such news rise a red flag to me.
