We report critically on Europeโ€™s dependence on Big Tech โ€“ yet our own platform still relies heavily on U.S. systems. Itโ€™s time to change that. Together with De Correspondent, weโ€™re phasing out U.S. technology and will document every step of the journey.

Not only FTM, also De Correspondent (a good Dutch news website).

Nice to see some Dutch companies taking this seriously

Iโ€™m really kind of in awe that Iโ€™m most likely going to see the collapse of the United States of America in my lifetime.

Collapse is probably an overstatement. Germany didn't even "collapse" after WW2. Rome just fractured.

More likely just unseated as the center of power. It'll be really hard to truly collapse the US.

Hopefully we wonโ€™t go route of the Russians or Chinese. But thatโ€™s probably wishful thinking.

It's like knowing you're at the tail end of the Roman Empire while it's happening.

Right? But also, itโ€™s important to note that the collapse of the Roman Empire took centuries, but I think itโ€™s likely weโ€™re gonna speedrun this shit within the space of a decade or two.

considering it's an active project rather than a whoopsie poopsie, they're trying to get it done by the end of the decade.

Didn't that take a few hundred years, though?

Did ostrogoths in 470 know the Roman Empire was about to collapse?

Can't happen soon enough!
