To think that the us has stricter laws for bingo hours than on their working hours.

Rule 1- All posts must begin with TIL. Linking to a source of info is optional, but highly recommended as it helps to spark discussion.
** Posts must be about an actual fact that you have learned, but it doesn't matter if you learned it today. See Rule 6 for all exceptions.**
Rule 2- Your post subject cannot be illegal or NSFW material.
Your post subject cannot be illegal or NSFW material. You will be warned first, banned second.
Rule 3- Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here.
Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here. Breaking this rule will not get you or your post removed, but it will put you at risk, and possibly in danger.
Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.
That's it.
Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.
Posts and comments which, instead of being of an innocuous nature, are specifically intended (based on reports and in the opinion of our crack moderation team) to bait users into ideological wars on charged political topics will be removed and the authors warned - or banned - depending on severity.
Rule 6- Regarding non-TIL posts.
Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-TIL posts using the [META] tag on your post title.
Rule 7- You can't harass or disturb other members.
If you vocally harass or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.
Likewise, if you are a member, sympathiser or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people, and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.

Usually these things have a precedent for why they are set.
Did a group play themselves to death?
Most likely to avoid permanent bingo halls, aka casinos that just have bingo.
Or the establishment put up a reward that they didnt actually wanna give out, so they endlessly extended the game somehow in the hopes that people would leave before the end.
That's not how bingo works
Yeah i realized that its been very long since i played bingo. But they could just have made huuuge bingo cards no?
Nah, bingo, like pretty much all casino gambling, basically requires short games to maximize dopamine release. A 5+ game wouldn't interest most gamblers
In fact, they often move way too fast, because if you don't call bingo before they call the next number, you don't win.
I dont know for certain but there has to be a sharing the wealth reason for this. Perhaps a to make sure that all bingo parlors got continuous business.

Probably had to do with gambling laws
The larger section is labeled
Article 37 - Lotteries, Gaming, Bingo and Raffles.
The dollop did a episode on the history of pinball. That was wild when it came to organized crime . I knew pinball machines were banned under gambling laws but the behind the scenes history no idea.
A pinball machine that gave back quarters would be super popular, like dumping the bin when you beat the high score or something? People would love it.
They used to some of the first versions. I need to go back and listen to that episode. It was fairly recent I think. I dont know I amass a backlog of their episodes and then will listen
I would absolutely operate illegal pinball. If we have illegal cabs and hotels I say what's good for the goose is good for the gander
I'll look them up thanks!
Lol problem is, collecting pinball tables became huge during covid. All the prices skyrocketed, especially machine from the mid 90s. And prices haven't came down.
But even 60s, 70s tables are getting big bucks. The ones you be looking for would be from the 50s and prior.
I still want a terminator 2 table
You're overlooking the word "exempt", which is critically important here. An earlier section defines an exempt organization
[...]as a bona fide nonprofit charitable, civic, religious, fraternal, patriotic or veterans' organization or as a nonprofit volunteer fire department, or as a nonprofit volunteer rescue squad or a bona fide homeowners' or property owners' association[...]
This restriction only applies to these organizations, and is likely intended to keep a casino (or similar) from pretending to be a charity.
Grandma in shambles
Can't have any hootenanny's going on
Tarheel here: The lottery was illegal in this state until fairly recently. Old North at least once had a thing against gambling.
