Hello fellow Calvin and Hobbes fans!

About this community and how I post the comic strip… The comics are posted in chronological order on the day (usually) they were released. Posting them to match the release date adds a bit of fun and nostalgia to match the experience of reading them in the newspaper for first time. Many moons ago, I would ask my Dad to save the newspaper for me everyday so I could read my favorite comic strips. It really sucked when I missed a day. Only years later, when I got the books was I able to catch up on the missed strips.

Calvin and Hobbes is a daily American comic strip created by cartoonist Bill Watterson that was syndicated from November 18, 1985, to December 31, 1995. Commonly cited as "the last great newspaper comic",[2][3][4] Calvin and Hobbes has enjoyed broad and enduring popularity, influence, and academic and philosophical interest… Read more: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calvin_and_Hobbes

How old is this kid supposed to be? He seems around 6 to 8. I think 7.00 / 8.00 is pretty normal for a kid that age. 6.30 seems a bit early tbh. So he's got a point!

Calvin is six.

Rosalyn, their usual babysitter, puts them to bed early for misbehaving. Hobbes is implying that they managed to not piss her off as quickly this time

Yes, in February 7th's strip Hobbes says she usually comes in and sends them to bed right away at 6:30. So with their notes-hostage shenanigans they managed to extend it to 7:00 this time.

In this story arc, Calvin stole her class notes and was trying to hold them hostage. Instead of meeting his demands, she waited quietly as a strategy. She was extremely angry.

Hobbes simply pointed out that, due to their hostage situation, they were able to stay up 30 minutes past when Rosalyn makes them go to bed.

Edit: in the arc, they literally hid behind a locked door until 7pm. They didn't "act better," hobbes is just pointing out they technically succeeded in staying up later

My 3yo has had a 7:30 bedtime for a year.

Today Calvin learns the toilet door can be opened from the outside.

Any door can be opened from the outside if you axe it nicely.

No, Calvin opened the door himself.
