It’s remarkable how little has changed really.

This is how that corner of Stephen’s Green opposite the Shelbourne Hotel looks today. There are a lot more trees now but the stone and cast iron bollards are still there to keep the road traffic off the pedestrian area and the hotel looks almost identical 130 years later.

I honestly don’t understand what the pennyfarthing brings to the table. It looks absurdly hard to ride.

Called a pennyfarthing because of the wheel sizes (a farthing was a very small ¼-penny coin).
