Why mostly negative reviews?

Edit:

Thank you for the responses

I’m really disappointed. I preordered REANIMAL to play it with a friend, but PC players don’t get a Friend Pass — while PS5 and Switch 2 do. My friend can’t afford the game right now, so because of this decision we literally can’t enjoy it together. This isn’t a technical issue. You had time to implement it and already did so on other platforms. Locking PC players out just feels greedy and unfair, especially for a co-op game. I supported the game early and now feel punished for it. This kind of move kills trust and seriously ruins the experience.

Many negative reviews seem to be about the friend pass not being available

A cursory look at the Steam reviews suggests trouble with crossplay. Gog reviews are 85% positive. Make of that what you will.

GOG always comes with a friend pass, if you will.

uh just to be clear: I meant you can always share the installer since there‘s no DRM

... Well I shouldn't think anyone would do such a dastardly thing so that couldn't POSSIBLY be it. 😳
