I don't think any of these communities are locked? Are you trying to post in old mega threads? I did just go check and News is fine.

I swear I tried to post in news and it was blocked. My post wound up in privacy, for reasons I don't know.
If its been a bit since you've posted, the pinned posts for the mega threads like "News" are now consolidated in the pinned post "Temporary Hexbear Megathread and Event Portal"
Are you using those links to go to the current unlocked mega threads for News?
Antifascism is locked from making posts (but not comments), but it looks like its been locked for 3 years for anybody who isn't a moderator. (not sure why though, maybe to keep potentially important things from not being seen by enough users).
Politics isn't locked for me.
Clicked randomly around the communities list and besides Antifascism, none show as locked.
Mods told me not to tell you but whatever, this is too cruel…..they’re all playing a prank on you. They thought it’d be funny if you could only submit effort posts to badposting
If I had to guess I'd say the moderators abandoned their accounts for whatever reason.
It happens, people stop posting and start on other sites, I do it too.
