I was wondering about that too. I'm curious to hear an anwser to this question.
I believe it's so anyone using the link can be directed to their home instance where they're logged on and able to interact with the post, rather than getting a read-only view on whatever instance the original link used.
As someone else mentioned in this thread, it’s there as a redirect link. Since people can share/view lemmy comments/posts from the authors instance, your instance, or their instance, they include the aforementioned options, and redirects through vger.to or thrediverse.link.
