Not everyone is self aware.

To be fair, social media doesn't help here. It is like giving a megaphone to every toxic fuck. Young folks read too much of that garbage so... Was anyone expecting anything else?

Dang, this survey doesn’t seem to be super promising.

The study revealed high levels of anti-feminist sentiment amongst UK men, with 50 per cent endorsing ‘red pill’ rhetoric underpinned by misogynistic ideology. 67 per cent of men agreed that “the media tends to portray men in a negative light”, while 59 per cent of men agreed that “feminism is about favouring women over men”

Women seem wicked when you're unwanted... 🎶

I don't necessarily subscribe to the "they have too high standards/expect too much" bit though, just the unlovable part lol

Doesn't that seem a stretch to call misogynistic red pilled thinking?

Some women i work with are only looking for 666 men. 6 foot, 6 pack, 6 figures. All early to mid 20s. Very picky when they are not the equivalent. Online dating doesn't help male self esteen either. Then if one girl dates someone like a barber the others make fun of her. Like geez ppl layoff.

It's a conversation no one is ready to have because of how much shame surrounds it.

Women do care about status, period. Maybe some men do too as well, but I personally don't.

If you aren't rich, attractive, young, assertive and confident or charming then your status is simply not as appealing to women. Period.

It goes both ways also, you always hear about how men expect women to be like they see "in porn" or whatever. No one talks about how women expect men to be like the love interest in hallmark movies or w.e kind of erotica women consume.

Fortunately I'm not in the dating scene rn but I bet you no one is happy with the arrangement and both men and women need to humble up.

Correlate that with depression numbers...

Damn, the self-esteem of UK lads is on the floor. 😞

Kind of an okay thing. We get told our whole lives that falling in love is the meaning of life so we manipulate women and power structures to make it happen no matter the damage. Maybe our lives should be less marriage-centric.

What if at least 1 in four men believed we could tangibly improve the world by just giving our time or empathy freely without needing something in return?

The virtue signaling here is wild lmaao

Imagine what would happen to the system if this large part of the working population believe (and are able to practice) giving their labour for free.

Hating women doesn't help your chances, guys.

[–] Dasus@lemmy.world 8 points 2 months ago

I don't think having the belief that no-one will love you equals hating women.

That's like depression vs aggression. Sometimes they can overlap, sure, but they're different things.

I have absolutely no hate for women, but also a pretty similar level of belief in that I could be actually loved by someone.

Extremely reductive and insulting to imply that only incels can feel depressed about their romantic prospects.

MANOSPHERE INFLUENCERS ARE POISONING MEN’S MINDS

UK data from men’s charity Movember shows that men who regularly consume masculinity influencer content are more likely to report frustration with dating. Among these men, 63 per cent believe women should fulfil traditional roles as wives and mothers (compared to 37 per cent among those who do not follow such content), while many others feel that “high-value men” have a significant advantage in the dating pool.

Yikes, it's the conservative incels that are really feeling the pain.

I wonder if things would be different if we men treated women respectfully, as equals, rather than second-class citizens and birthing machines.
