Agreed. The genie is out of the bottle and there's no putting it back in. Also the idea that the government of all things would be good at 'regulating' AI is idiotic. There is now a hot war technologically to prevent a hegemon from emerging in the AI space. Meanwhile the government is going to use it to surveil us and kill people on the battlefield. It's unstoppable. I suspect that high tech devices will be regulated like guns in the next 5-10 years. We're already seeing it with CNC machines and 3D printers.
