I generally dislike the little random micro movements that bosses do too though. I loathe the 4 phase arena you have to do every time before the fight. Not my favorite fight.
But it's not random.

She’s actually entirely predictable if you just pay attention to her attack cues. I beat her on the first try if memory serves. As Hornet said in HollowKnight, “GITGUD!”
Yes, she is predictable, but the flies bounce in random directions every time they hit something, and even when they die they will move in random direction.
For me it took less tries to beat nightmare king Grimm than it's taking to beat this. This is not normal. And the reward is meaningless
Ok yeah, that wasn't my experience at all with broodmother. What crest are you using? I used wanderer and spammed attack, which probably helped a lot against the small flies.
I have managed. I used wanderers crest spamming pogo after she dives until I got sandwiched between her and the ceiling by chance. This deals a lot of damage quickly because it nullifies knockback.
Of course no skill is required for this, because it's a stupid fight based on pure chance.
Usually I use the reaper's crest because I like the big heavy swings. For any other situation or fight (not based on lucky spamming), the pogo delay is not a real issue, you just need to press the button earlier.
There's no fights in the game that are based on chance, and I think you will have a lot more fun if you adjust your approach. Oh, I agree that there's some BS, but the game provides a lot of tools to help. Each attack does have one or more "correct" response, you've gotta work out the correct answers then piece them together. I would never recommend grinding a boss for five hours, there's other stuff to do in the game, or play something else.
I used wanderer pretty much the entire game, best crest.
I did as well, as soon as I got it. My muscle memory from Hollow Knight could not get used to Hornets other move sets.
