This is America... today. It will get better. It always does. America has been through this before (remember Madison Square Garden filled with Nazis?)
This may be the first time each of us has been through this but we don't like it because it's new and people don't know what to expect, but they aren't thinking it through. Evil is self-defeating. Always has been. There isn't a dictator in history that doesn't die and what little empire they carve out for themselves falls apart soon after. There are no fascist states that exist for more than a few years without the support of other fascists, and fascists turn on each other without reason. This will all pass.
And just like we look to Europe as one of the beacons of sense amidst this storm, they were also beset by fascists a generation ago. This shit will pass.
That doesn't mean we do nothing. Friction against the regime will shorten the lifespan of the fascist power and bring about whatever justice or revenge they deserve. Be one of the thousand cuts that slows things to a frustrating crawl. Make Stephen Miller have an aneurysm from a lack of progress.
This is America. Today. And given the level of opposition to the current trends, this will not be America when it's your turn to weather fascism.
