It's interesting. I hadn't heard a single peep from or about New York until Mamdani came into the picture. It's almost like he's getting special attention from both sides. One side trying to poke a many holes in his leadership and character as possible, and the other trying to point out how much better he's doing versus other established individuals. It's very interesting.

- No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning
We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

Not really, no. I don't even hear about my own mayor. Of course, it helps that I'm just about as far away from NYC that I can be in the States.
His progressive politics must be portrayed as a catastrophic failure in any way possible. Otherwise the elite class will be shitting their pants.
The elites need to maintain the status quo at all costs.
