Why is baseball such a backwards sport? Because it's whiter? Popular in flyover states?

Genuine question, I'm European and this is a piece of American culture I was completely unaware of.

Baseball requires teams, equipment, and locations which are all expensive and skewed towards higher income participants

You’ll find minority participation is generally lower in sports with higher participation costs and racist societies artificially keep minorities in greater poverty and economic stress which naturally eliminates most of their potential applicants from the given sport

Football defies this because of massive institutional funding and support that is also racially motivated but begins in early schools where football programs start

Whiter, games take longer so you generally have to be more affluent to watch or practice
