The Nazis had a the worst war ever in human history at that point. Along with hyper inflation that ruined million’s and the hangover of Versailles and the all the imperialist ideas that were still in vogue. An entire generation slaughtered in the trenches, near famine. A Germany whose elites never recognized Weimar as legitimate and even a near socialist revolution in Bavaria!!

The US electorate has what exactly? 3-4% annualized GDP growth. The best recovery since the Great Recession. Key leads in AI and just about every industry. Oil and energy independence. The best economy on planet earth where you can print unlimited dollars for your own use while the rest of the world consumes it. A undisputed hegemony that shapes world politics by its sheer military might.

It’s a bit baffling what caused a sudden shift to a person who’s a narcissistic pig who wants to bring back economics that was discredited back in the Great Depression.

Is it simply understood as a working class revolt against globalization and neoliberal politics?

They voted for him twice maybe who knows a third time if he lives long enough…

My personal belief is that our two party system is a failure. It leads to the "least of two evils vote" mindset where the two parties know you don't have any realistic options other than what youre given. That's how we got bush voted in and a harris attempt. There are real problems citizens face though that they felt were being ignored by the Democrats. Trump promised the world to those who we're struggling then failed and is failing now from that perspective of an average American. If you look at it from the top 1% it's a boon. He villainized intelligence, shamed empathy, prioritized overt aggression, and celebrated blind trust while calling these actions patriotism. He rallied people around their struggles, turned that into hate and blame, then told them to vote for him and he'll fix it all. All while having a detailed track record of exactly opposite of that.

He is a symptom of our problems not the result. This part scares me the most honestly.

Obama was "given a chance" by white people and he just turned out to be part of the machine and not for the people (ofc, lol), so they went full white supremacy because it's the other side of this false dichotomy and because white Americans are inherently racist and violent people and that's always an option and Donny represented that option (because white Americans will often have been raised by the OG colonizers/slavers/imperialist soldiers so what can you expect?).

Idk why anyone thinks things have truly changed. It's the same people that were okay with genocide and colonization, chattel slavery, complete world control through incursion and bombings, etc etc, the empire is doing this today and the people are either fully in support because fuck brown people or just tacitly, silently support it! There are probably fewer than 5% of Americans with any sort of moral framework. And people will still say "God bless America" as if the best blessing God could give us all wouldn't just be the sudden destruction of America and vassals like Israel, lol. They never acknowledged how evil their so-called civilization is, they never repented, that's enough evidence for a lack of change. So why would Trump be such a surprise? He's the great white hope! 🤣

it's called "hate". he peddles an endless supply, and enough of the 'right' people bought it, consumed it, and spread it to others. it's a vicious cycle that has no end until his own.

The Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the sexual revolution gave women and black people too much power. Conservatives made up their minds on a course of action. They have been working to implement their plan for 50 years now. Cable TV provided the most powerful propaganda medium since the printing press. Social media then bridged the chasm between Fox viewers and humans and ignited the impending conflict.

He didn’t win, he cheated, stop legitimising a foreign active measures coup.

This is a foreign country attacking a sovereign nation from within.

This type of debates legitimise the charade of elections and democracy.

He seems to have more than enough real support, NGL, I've seen the rallies.
