While it's not a service I would use, if it helps move the needle away from Windows' dominance of the gaming market, that's a good thing. The more people who can ditch Windows, the better. It probably means an Eternal September for Linux. But that is ultimately a good thing. If Linux becomes the default choice for gaming PCs for the mass market, more games will be released with Linux Native versions, driving further Linux adoption. It's the type of virtuous cycle which is needed to kill the giant that is Windows.

In other news you all will be thrilled to hear, I finally switched my KDE desktop to Nvidia.

For years, I ran it off my AMD CPU’s graphics, and completely disabled Nvidia display out. It was just less trouble. But I undid all that yesterday, and… stuff just works, as far as I can tell. It even fixed an HDR issue I was having, and KDE’s VRAM usage isn’t so egregious anymore.

I love my NVIDIA card but the day I’m forced to install GeForce Now is the day that I sell it, and spend the day cleaning because I threw up where ever it was that I heard the news.
