I guess this is what you call a "first-world problem". Got so used to internet that I forgot some places don't even have stable internet connection... or internet at all...

I mean I guess having mobile data as a "backup" makes this only a slight annoyance...

ISP is Xfinity/Comcast btw

As someone who used to work for an ISP I always used to hate it when people acted like it's the end of the world when there was an outage. I'm not saying this is you, but some people I guess imagine that things happen with a waving of a magic wand. Things brake, things need time to be fixed.

I don't know how your ISPs work, but in my experience the estimated time is usually way more than what they really need to fix it. They just do it in case things don't work out as expected. You will be way happier it they tell you they will fix it in 5 hours and actually manage to resolve it in 1 hour. Instead if they say its going to be an hour and then spend 5 hours fixing it you wouldn't like it as much.

Internet access is increasingly becoming as crucial as any other utility. For some people, losing Internet might interfere with work, school, or medical devices.

It's not "the end of the world" if my electricity is out for 5 hours, but it might cost me hundreds of dollars in spoiled food. It's not "the end of the world" of my Internet is out for 5 hours, but it might "cost" me PTO.

“Things brake” Yes cars brake to slow down, things break.

Through a series of circumstances that I could rant about for a long long time, I recently went about a month without internet involuntarily. After 15gigs my mobile data slowed down so far I couldn't use it for anything more than text posts sometimes. It was awful
