Yay my pay fell out of the cloud finally and into my bank account! ๐Ÿคธ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ Thankyou for your kind words this morning guys, it really helped me emotionally!

[โ€“] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 6 points 3 months ago

hugs

I really dislike employers who leave employees hanging. ๐ŸคฌYou've done your work. They should pay. It's not your problem how they do it. And it's a moral issue too, people have families and bills. You do not know if children will go hungry pr without medical care. It's just unacceptable.

Still haven't gotten my pay ๐Ÿ˜• It's in the damn cloud somewhere. Had to transfer money out of my kids bank accounts to cover direct debits. I feel deeply ashamed.

[โ€“] melbaboutown@aussie.zone 7 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago) (1 children)

Thereโ€™s no shame, itโ€™s keeping the water and lights on that they also use and youโ€™ll pay it back.

Iโ€™m wondering if Mr P is contributing to the household expenses. Because now would be a great time

Edit: I found this for emergency help with essentials, fingers crossed your pay comes through soon but if not https://ndh.org.au/debt-solutions/emergency-assistance/

There is no shame to be had. You are doing what you have to, and the money will be back in theirs as soon as it hits your account. Its nothing you've done and beyond your control.

[โ€“] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 5 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago) (1 children)

You've got great kids. I'm sure they'll understand.

I'm sending this out to the cloud - HURRY UP WITH THE FUCKING MOOLAH

I hope this helps. โค๏ธ ๐Ÿคž

[โ€“] PeelerSheila@aussie.zone 7 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Thankyou. Listen, cloud, listen!

[โ€“] Thornburywitch@aussie.zone 7 points 3 months ago

This is the one time when yelling at clouds is socially acceptable.

[โ€“] tombruzzo@aussie.zone 5 points 3 months ago (1 children)

That sucks. Your boss knows its late, doesn't he? Is there anything he can do from the payroll side?

[โ€“] PeelerSheila@aussie.zone 5 points 3 months ago

All he knows is the money has gone from his account. There was an industry outage affecting merchant payments to external accounts earlier this week, so it's been caught up in that somehow.

Contemplating veg and tofu stir fry with much noodle for dinner tonight, y/n?

[โ€“] TheWitchofThornbury2@aussie.zone 5 points 3 months ago (3 children)

Ditch the tofu for snozzages.

Dinner is done.

I made pasta al limone, with fried salmon and a salad with lemon-yoghurt dressing. It was rather tasty. I've been trying to do more pasta sauces that are not tomato based, this definitely fits the bill.

Crap. I went outside to put out extra water because the black cat was there. Looks like a boy? And he was desperately head bunting for affection but also for some reason suddenly hissing. His fur looks sparser than I realised and heโ€™s thinner than he looks.

So I think he might be neglected or stray and also would be too aggressive to easily get in the carrier, with high potential to injure me.

spoilerIโ€™ve caved and given him some dry food. I didnโ€™t want to encourage him here, but he might possibly need help. Not sure what to do or how to manage this with limited physical resources and transport.

I could try to get a cat trap and wear oven mitts to grab it. But would have to carry him and the cage through the house past my own critter to get him in a pet uber by myself. Thereโ€™s another spot but I risk catching other cats or having it stolen and itโ€™s hard to monitor.

Edit: Ok the council rents and collects, but also only lets you have it for a week and no weekend cat collectionโ€ฆ

trying to get Ted vaccinated attempt 2 ๐Ÿคž

[โ€“] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 7 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Carn Ted you got this buddy. ๐Ÿ

[โ€“] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 6 points 3 months ago (1 children)
[โ€“] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 7 points 3 months ago (4 children)

Vaccination done.

First there was a huge fight for him to take his sedative, he nipped me and chucked up.

At the vet the nurses tried to pat him, even after we said not to. he did not like it. But then they wrapped him up in a towel and gave him his shot near his bum. So success. ๐Ÿ™‚ Right now he's still a bit wobbly and is resting.

So for Ted the past week has been good. He weighed in at 1.25 kg less than a year ago, he's had his fur trimmed and brushed so no more mats and knots and had his shots. ๐Ÿ˜ป๐Ÿ˜ป๐Ÿ˜ป

[โ€“] Alamutjones@aussie.zone 5 points 3 months ago

Give that man a squeeze tube

[โ€“] Eagle@aussie.zone 5 points 3 months ago

What a big week for Ted. A snooze in a sunny spot should now be his only agenda item.

Powerful, courageous ted, definitely needs some treats once he's recovered!

>stuff around with spider climbs to try and strengthen hands

>distant memory appears

>hmm

Warning for mention of spider and squashing. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=bvFuUaCe8eY

spoilerWhat Iโ€™m referring to is I think spider climbs were partly used in writing this song. Sounds like the deepening bass part is ascending up the fret and the vocal parts sound like theyโ€™re descending down the fret (getting higher in notes).

Anyway. I donโ€™t write or play music, just randomly noticed that.

Edit: Ok the main riff sounds like one spider climb at the top of the range/bottom of the fret (four fingers climbing up then the single finger beginning of the next) and then a big jump to the third fret from the top then one note on the fifth. I think. I donโ€™t read music or chords. This is all by ear, very simplified and would be so much easier with a real bass rather than a ukulele. Tried initially on an E because thatโ€™s the string used in the exercise but it sounds better as a C?

The โ€˜creepy crawlyโ€™ vocal part is the second and third fret alternated. I initially tried the E string, apparently thatโ€™s a G but I feel it sounds better on E.

No idea how this matches up to a guitar

I canโ€™t sleep

I thought I was too late planting my snow peas and that they would die in the heat before managing to produce anything, but instead I have the first pods on the vine now! I also have the zucchini and squash on the verge of production and some cherry tomatoes at the flowering stage.
