Crap. I went outside to put out extra water because the black cat was there. Looks like a boy? And he was desperately head bunting for affection but also for some reason suddenly hissing. His fur looks sparser than I realised and he’s thinner than he looks.

So I think he might be neglected or stray and also would be too aggressive to easily get in the carrier, with high potential to injure me.

spoilerI’ve caved and given him some dry food. I didn’t want to encourage him here, but he might possibly need help. Not sure what to do or how to manage this with limited physical resources and transport.

I could try to get a cat trap and wear oven mitts to grab it. But would have to carry him and the cage through the house past my own critter to get him in a pet uber by myself. There’s another spot but I risk catching other cats or having it stolen and it’s hard to monitor.

Edit: Ok the council rents and collects, but also only lets you have it for a week and no weekend cat collection…
