MODERATORS

After seeing biltzen’s post, i figured I’d share mine.

Not much ‘mod’ here. Tried to keep things near the same period. I’m the sole owner of this bike. It sat in my garage for 20+ years until one day the bug bit me and I just started working on it.

The biggest change was to have it powder coated. I never liked the original paint much. Had the logos recreated as water slide decals. Kept the original headset badge.

I drilled and rivnutted the bottle cage mounts. That was a bit scary.

At one point i had put indexed shifters(brifters) on it, but went back to friction. It just fits better.

That is a gorgeous blue, and beautiful lugs.

I like your decision to keep the down tube shifters. Those can be indexed too but being able to trim is nice. The powder coating looks good with that lugged frame.

That's a beauty.

Love the pinstriping on the lugs. Sexy build! Who did you use for the decals?

Some guy I found online in Chicago. I sent him a pdf and got the print in about a week. $50ish

Nice! I had one of those ubiquitous Japanese sport tourers back in the 80s and did almost everything on it. I regret selling it.
