Probably just a random bug that they will fix soon. The US government would never get in the way of peoples freedom or democracy.

Is there a tool or app that works similar to a VPN that would grant access to the wider tiktok outside of the is based version?
I see the app up scrolled is being heavily pushed, wondering how legitimate it US as an uncensored alternative
With a VPN you might be able to use the EU version.
For mobile Upscrolled is pretty good right now, but most content is Palestine related.

it reminds me of rednote this time last year with the influx of tiktokers and it makes me wish that they all went to decentralized media instead of yet another corporate one.
Decentralized alternatives simply didn't exist when they started working on Upscroll, so they went for the centralized path of least resistance. Loops has just launched but I'm not sure on their content policy.
The app was genuinely down on Jan 25. Bunch of coverage. No need to spin conspiracy theories about this particular user or set of tags.
There is a valid question about whether or not the app as a whole was intentionally hamstrung in the US on Jan 25 tho.
There's multiple videos showing users using the US version of the app being able to send normal messages but not being able to send messages with the word "Epstein". It doesn't always go off though

Not trying to move the goalposts on you here. Both the original image that you posted and my comment referred to the very well documented total outage on Jan 25. What you have responded with is sometimes private messages containing specific phrases occasionally don’t go through. While that may be the case, that is not what either your original post or my response were about.
Many users have reported the pattern of Epstein messages being censored and not other messages. The video goes more in-depth on it. A "power outage" isn't a great explanation for it.
Messages are not what your original post or my comment were referring to. If you take the time to reread my original comment, you’ll see

I don’t know why you’re acting like I didn’t say that or was talking about messages.
