Hi. Since a few months, I keep going through this process with Ad0be Acr0bat:

  1. patch it with GenP
  2. use it normally for 2-3 days
  3. Acr0bat realises that it is not a genuine version and shuts itself after a few seconds.
  4. goto 1)

I have Acrobat.exe, acrodistdll.dll, acrotray.exe, Creative Cloud.exe all blocked via firewall for Outgoing rules. The funny thing is that I have Photoshop, Lightroom and Premiere installed in the same machine and never had an issue with them.

What am I missing? Thank you!

I get a bit annoyed when people in a pirating sub don't help you with your pirating issue and just try to redirect you, but here I go anway. Adobe has changed something recently as I also had my acrobat shut down after a year or more of successful use. I looked for a FOSS alternative and discovered Stirling. It's too soon for me to sing any praises yet, but so far I've been able to do with it what I need and I think it has the potential to match or even exceed the capabilities I had with acrobat.

Interesting. Will check that out whenever the firefox pdf reader won‘t suffice, thanks!

I had the same problem and the genp support on revolt wasn't cooperative either on this issue. What fixed it was disabling a service related to acrobat update but I don't remember the name exactly.

Yeah I’m having this issue as well, it seems the application tries to check subscription status and failed. We need Acrobat for editing PDFs as I am a student and I’ve already tried the alternative both paid and FOSS but all of them either having problems with formatting or just causing more problems in thd end that I needed to stick with Acrobat, it sucks.

Who still needs acrobat in 2026? Literally anything else does what it does better and often for free*
