Does anyone go to the App Store to browse anymore? Most of the apps I’ve gotten from there have been from a search, or an external link, after reading about it elsewhere.

The days of browsing software are long gone.

I miss the days of versiontracker.

Good.

It means you can trust the App Store less and less. Which weakens Apple's argument against sideloading (that the App Store is a trusted source). Make it more trashy so we can argue it's not the trustworthy place it once was.

Or maybe that's the idea, App Store ads are going to make up for the revenue lost to sideloading?

I expect Apple to lock down sideloading like Google. Tim Apple didn't donate gold for nothing.

Well if you think about it, the entire App Store is all ads.
