In Dutch it is paper - rock - scissors (blad steen schaar)

It's actually Scissors, Rock, Paper in Germany. Schnick schnack Schnuck is just another name of the game that means nothing otherwise

And thank god they didn't use the other other naming style in this comic o_o

In Australia it's scissors paper rock for some upsidedown reason.

non-political instance

everyone is wearing a flag

January 1st 1984

Flags or nationalities ≠ politics, though?

Had originally interpreted CluckN's comment as a joke, but in case it isn't, adding to Suru's comment, the joke is more on linguistics, maybe a bit on culture, but certainly not politics.

They're nonsense words used specifically for the rock paper scissors game. We do primarily call it "Schere, Stein, Papier", though ("scissors, stone, paper").

Sack is honestly the only one that makes sense beating rock, because you could put the rock in a sack. Paper covering rock always seemed to me to be kind of inconsequential to rock.

proceeds to stop a boulder rolling downhill with a blanket

[–] Zorque@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

attempts to cut a blanket with someone else's fabric scissors

In lithuania we always said vas ki či :3 for rock paper scissors.. at least when I was growing up. Which doesn't actually mean anything lol

A new satw! Hopefully we get 1a month this year, but I'm happy to read as little or as much comes my way.
