Not surprisingly he goes to worm around the free speech amendment to squash TV shows talking hard against him.

Ah. Well, let's trial it with Fox and see where it goes.

I wish. Regrettably it doesn’t apply to Fox News because its a broadcast-TV-only rule.

Honestly, all this does is keep these shows from booking any politician onto their late night talk show. Considering how rarely that happens now, it’s really a waste of time and effort to “enforce”.

Just grab some maga supporter and interview them, showing what fucking morons they are for half the time? Could be entertaining.

I see this as mostly unenforceable. Conservative pundits are invited to mainstream shows all the time and simply refuse to leave their bubble. Similarly, conservative talk shows do not invite dissenting opinions to their shows, it's just not how the broadcasters have designed their "infotainment" networks. They aren't trying to actually debate, they are trying to sell certain viewpoints and hot takes that keep people watching.

Conservative pundits would be eviscerated on regular programming; it's why they don't do those shows.

Will it be like when Orbán's government ruled that fair representation in state media meant the news anchor has to say "...and there are those who do not agree with the government", but nothing more?

This seems like an opportunity to an enterprising comedy show. There's so many layers of malicious compliance they can use to pay lip service to the rule while making the fascists look even worse. As they say constraints breed creativity. They're basically inviting these shows to find new and creative ways to damage the public perception of our current fascist administration.

Sure, equal time between the top two viewpoints in terms of GDP.

Repubs always put us in debt so they're out.
