Doesn't matter if they want to be useless, worst case scenario they're going to be a lesson to the rest of the neoliberals that this fight isn't optional.

They won't lead, they're not following protestors, and just by existing in office they're refusing to get out of the way for people who will use what governor and mayors have at their disposal.

They wouldnt do any of the three to help us, but if it becomes clear they're go down for shit like this even though they haven't actually done anything...

Self preservation will at least get them out of the way and states/cities can get better representation that will fight for them. We don't have to wait for midterms to solidify the Dem party, the neoliberals can just run away to their oligarchs now and save time.

Neoliberals are on the side MAGA

[–] givesomefucks@lemmy.world 5 points 3 months ago

They're not.

They're on the side of wealth and power. And there's a lot of overlap because extreme wealth is in the hands of a very small amount of people for them to lobby.

Even then, the two groups handles it very differently.

Neoliberals beg for crumbs, MAGA is willing to let everyone starve unless lil Donnie is the only one who gets two scoops. If everyone gets two scoops, they don't want anyone to get anything because then there's not a clear sign they're better.

I hope both Walz and Frey can get it through their skulls that this isn't going to be fixed with tge system as it is.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 3 points 3 months ago

It's the rest of us who need to get that message. Walz and Frey are irrelevant.

Tim Walz and Jacob Fry: We’re powerless to stop this. We say we want them out of our state, but you have to film them for us in case an adult comes to help

The only thing that is more shocking than the brutality of this administration, is their laughable incompetence.

They've already tried to cheat to secure Grand Jury indictments. No jury if going to sign shit for these pyshoctic fuckers.

They are incompetent, but while it takes smart people to build things, much less intelligence is required to break them.

For example, I wouldn't be surprised if they are creating an illegal workaround to the grand jury issue. Perhaps at some point grand jury selection has a discretionary or customary step that isn't codified in law, and they'll use it to seat a pre-selected MAGA grand jury. Or they'll use false and misleading information to the grand jury, and then file charges before Aileen Cannon who will continue her Supreme Court interview.

I say this not to doom, but to be prepared.
