- Under Obama II, Mitch McConnell succeeded in preventing liberal justices to be confirmed in the Senate, leaving a notorious psychopath/narcissistic sociopath to fill 3 conservative justices in a single term, despite being one of the least popular presidents of all time.

What you are seeing is the unmasked version of US politics. This is what US politics has always been, but it's always been a lot more covert. The political parties do not have any issue with what he is doing, they only have an issue that he is so blatant with it.
Ideas can spread but also get corrected when people interact.
It used to be that people talked to each other and set the dumbasses straight whenever they spit out this kind of "politics".
These days everyone is just angry online and they'd rather change their online network than to change their minds.
Someone should have told off Trump long ago. They didn't, and since he chose to communicate official statements on Twitter, instead of passing it through advisers and secretaries who could advise him better, it's only gotten worse.
Fascism is an idea that needs to die, but it's really difficult to confront the idea when the fascists hide in their online safe spaces, like X and Truth Social, where they only interact with bootlickers and block everyone else.
I think the best way to kill fascism is to talk openly about it with other people offline.

They're benefiting from the grift. Everyday people either think they're going to be graced by him, or fucking hate his guts.
I had an old coworker who had given MAGA organizations her life's savings. She was working well past her planned retirement and wound up getting a head injury when a patient bopped her on the head three times. She shouldn't have been put in the position to work high acuity psychiatry in her 70s. She was going to retire destitute but after that nobody could deny she just wasn't safe to work anymore. And to the day she retired she kept saying trump was going to reward her any day now. I know somebody here is gonna talk shit but aside from being too damn naïve she was such a kind soul. And I've only ever worked psych as a nurse but she'd done all kinds of things like oncology and wound care so if I had a patient with a medical problem or who needed an IV placed she had my back. She'd rant to the high heavens about the lizard people but damn if she didn't know her lab values and meds back to front. I hope those grifters rot in hell.
That was what the election was for.
When someone votes for a person like Trump, they are voting to not hold him accountable and to continue doing worse and worse things and to do away with guardrails, rules, rights, and all those other niceties of the socio-politico contract.
This is what every MAGA sounds like the moment their token gets spent or the chickens come home to roost for them (bot a damn fucking goddamn minute sooner or st any point prior) and they receive the same consequences they wanted and voted for others ("but not meeeee") to be treated with by Trump's regime

Edit: Y'all, accountability ≠ jail or death. The US Legislature and Supreme Court have reined in presidential power for literally the entire existence of the US. Even during the first Trump Admin this happened. What's happening now is a total abdication of the separation of powers
