Welcome to the News community!

Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

I can't wait to see this cross-referenced against the Jan 6 pardons

[–] driving_crooner@lemmy.eco.br 72 points 3 months ago (3 children)

And the sex offender registry

[–] Snowclone@lemmy.world 26 points 3 months ago

That's a big ol' bingo. This is crazy sheriff who started a 'posey' to 'round up illegals' all over again most of the people he hired were felons.

[–] aeronmelon@lemmy.world 16 points 3 months ago

And the Southern Baptist Convention membership list.

[–] ThePantser@sh.itjust.works 12 points 3 months ago

Ooh that's a good point, these "people" keep entering schools.

Wife was talking about them this morning. She heard that since ICE recruitment that Proud Boys had gone quite, that because they all joined ICE.

[–] Assassassin@lemmy.dbzer0.com 10 points 3 months ago

Pretty sure it's the same dataset

[–] garth@sh.itjust.works 59 points 3 months ago (5 children)

https://icelist.is/

Though I'm having trouble loading the site. Hopefully it's being heavily used by legit users, and not being DDoS'd to prevent access.

[–] Carmakazi@piefed.social 29 points 3 months ago (2 children)

If anyone gets access save everything locally immediately. I don't see this lasting more than 24 hours.

[–] cattywampas@lemmy.world 18 points 3 months ago (1 children)

It's based in Iceland so it won't be easily taken down by US authorities.

[–] Carmakazi@piefed.social 13 points 3 months ago

DHS has more resources at their disposal than most militaries now. They will give it a damn good try.

[–] Bronzebeard@lemmy.zip 4 points 3 months ago (1 children)

It's hosted outside the US.

Clouds are harder to locate

[–] wheezy@lemmy.ml 19 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

Am I old? Why do people not just release this shit as a torrent and share magnet links? This needs to be maintained decentralized.

[–] atzanteol@sh.itjust.works 16 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Gonna need to .torrent that.

[–] TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world 6 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Yeah its either hug of deathed, ddos'd, or run by amateurs.

You dont' get something like that, then release it, not being prepared for a lot of traffic.

[–] wheezy@lemmy.ml 2 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago) (1 children)

It must be blocked in the US. Because connecting to a VPN got me there.

Edit: The actual list at https://wiki.icelist.is/

Is still down. Why do these people not dump a magnet link?

Like, hmmm, let's run a server and try to host this so we get ad revenue? Like, if they actually wanted the info leaked they'd have a magnet link on that first page with the file hosted over hundreds of seedboxes.

[–] TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago

I set my VPN to Greece, still found it unpopulated

[–] danc4498@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago (1 children)

DDoS won’t last forever if it is what’s happening.

[–] pivot_root@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Not that they will ever investigate crimes they started, but isn't it also a federal crime?

[–] wheezy@lemmy.ml 1 points 3 months ago (1 children)

It's not about the fascist governments investigation of itself. It's about making ICE agents afraid. Everyone of them should be afraid to go to sleep at night.

[–] pivot_root@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago

I meant the DDoS

[–] TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago

Still not loading.

[–] ThePantser@sh.itjust.works 47 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Remember, it's ok to Dox a nazi

[–] Bronzebeard@lemmy.zip 17 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Revealing information that is already supposed to be public is not doxxing.

[–] ThePantser@sh.itjust.works 1 points 3 months ago

It is if you release their spouses and kids, jobs, schools, etc.

[–] TrickDacy@lemmy.world 17 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

I wonder who leaked this. They deserve a fucking medal if this shit is ever over

[–] lemmylump@lemmy.world 13 points 3 months ago

This shit needs to be on a torrent, websites are not great for this.

[–] TheRealShadeSlimmy@lemmy.world 12 points 3 months ago
[–] crandlecan@mander.xyz 10 points 3 months ago
[–] HellsBelle@sh.itjust.works 8 points 3 months ago

An initital set of the names from the leak will be posted on Tuesday night, Skinner told the Daily Beast.

[–] lechekaflan@lemmy.world 5 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

The leaker must be honored.

[–] minorkeys@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

Now both sides got lists.
