Doesn't matter if the govs sent them or not. People should defend themselves. This is why everyone has guns, right? Right?
They travel in gangs of four or more and pick off singles and doubles. Even if you wanted to get in a firefight (bad idea in any case) those are shitty odds.
I'm making sure my friends are travelling in groups. If they don't have 4 in public I worry they will be next.

That's all well and fine, I agree.
But I also don't really care anymore. They're telling America the sky is green and that you didn't witness a murder. They're still marching lockstep and a huge portion of this country doesn't question state media, and they sure as FUCK aren't asking for sources about much, much bigger things, so a source on a single broken window isn't going to keep me up at night.
Luckily you weren't the one who asked for it, and so far no one has asked care.
