Just keeping you in the loop...

[–] gustofwind@lemmy.world 12 points 3 months ago

If you want access to the loop you must accept the risks and consequences

Ah maybe they mean Musk's Hyper Loop? Then I wholly understand and agree.

[–] danc4498@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

I’d like to not be aware of that.

Loop orthogonal

[–] vic_rattlehead@lemmy.world 4 points 3 months ago

Brother, may I have some loops?

[–] CetaceanNeeded@lemmy.world 4 points 3 months ago

This is why I have a wife.

You can break free from the loop by throwing your hands up in the air and saying "not my circus, not my monkeys."

I learned IRL a little while ago that saying doesn't apparently hold the same meaning in Spanish (Tican? Argentinian?), but it still gets a laugh. The abuelas I said it around didn't elaborate and just giggled at the silly American... but maybe someone here can shed some light? 😅🤷🏼‍♂️🤪

"I want to be aware of the loop and its contents"

Thats 'in the loop' though!

[–] edgemaster72@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago

You could maybe argue that 'in the loop' implies that someone else in the loop has knowingly informed you of the loop's contents, hence bringing you 'in the loop', whereas you could be aware of the loop's contents without being intentionally informed, such as if a high ranking military official accidentally added you to a group chat you weren't supposed to know about.

Admittedly that's pretty iffy, and maybe there's not really a humorous way to convey that they want to be aware of things without others knowing what they know or being expected to act on said information.

I want the warning so I can best avoid coming in contact with the loop.

Not even adjacent, please. Loop liminal; coronal; orbital, even. Just, not in the motherfucker.

Or if you go loopy, you just don't care about the loop anymore...

[–] otter@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 3 months ago

You have become loop.
