I hope this happens, and everyone starts calling it Taco's participation trophy.

He is just so fucking stupid, and his base are such reprogrammable meatbots, though. Both he and his idiot base might really believe that's how prizes actually work.

A classic trait of narcissism to claim accomplishments you didn't make. As many as you can.

If would be a great benefit to the world if she used it to beat him to death.

It's 175 grams of gold on a heavy ribbon. You could definitely kill an old man with it if you put some effort into using it as a flail.

I feel it could be rather effortless. Natural even. As if it was made to happen by destiny itself.

Heavy ribbon you say?

Strangling works too.

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 2 points 2 days ago

She should hide poison in it

Machado told Fox News host Sean Hannity on his show earlier this week that she would like to give Trump the Nobel Peace Prize she won earlier this year.

if she used it to beat him to death.

Why would she do that when she said she would like to give it to him?

Reading the article? That's crazy talk.

Oh, Donald Trump, the great athlete who possesses and therefore also won the FIFA World Cup? The one who can't distinguish literal and symbolic thought? That Trump?

The only FIFA peace price in history. It's a very exclusive club.

Just brain soup at this point. He cannot think coherently at all.

[–] JeeBaiChow@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

That doesnt stop him from being a blight on humanity, though.

It’d be such great fiction.

An aging, demented despot thinks he should undeservingly receive a “Peace Prize”—largely because his old-man racism can’t stand being upstaged by a black prize recipient who sassed him at a dinner once—and he campaigns aggressively for the prize.

He doesn’t live out the ideals of the prize so as to position himself to be a worthy candidate—he simply shouts at everyone that he is the singularly best person in the world to receive it.

When it goes to a person who lived out the ideals of peace, the despot quickly sends his cartoonishly overpowered military to her country, conquers it, and then the despot with his nigh-omnipotent forces pressures the principled woman into forfeiting the “peace” prize to him.

The aging despot finally gets his “Peace Prize” through force inspired by racism.

The world gave up a long time ago…

There's just no possible way that it works like that

[–] Bronzebeard@lemmy.zip 3 points 1 day ago

He probably thinks taking someone's Superbowl ring also means he won the game.

Oh god.

I guess people have been gifting Trump gold trinkets this whole admin. But this is a whole new level of cringe.

Taco is very fond of the participation trophies he's been getting.

And people were saying it was all the Gen Y kids that were getting the participation trophies. Turns out that Taco, who barely missed being in the Silent Generation (but is a boomer), is a huge fan of them.

[–] someguy3@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Guess who decided Gen Y needed participation trophies.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Yeah, I never understood why people were always getting so butthurt about the notion. To be honest, as Gen X here, I remember getting one handed to me (and everyone else that competed) for "track and field day" in elementary school. I didn't value those and none of my peers did, either. And neither did Gen Y, I bet. I did value the 1st and 2nd places and so on that I got for the actual events I competed in and placed in.

I even heard instances of some Gen Y kids keeping their own game scores so they'd know who won when they were playing games where the adults were NOT keeping score for whatever reasons the adults had.

Anyway: no kid gives trophies to themselves; it's the adults that are choosing those, buying those and giving them out...

I think when you have just been “given” everything your entire life, the concept of “earning” something is incomprehensible.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Seems Taco has been getting participation trophies all of his life.
