Your dad's approach is bullshit. I don't think that Russian, Chinese, Israeli, etc. citizens are the enemy, but their governments are. As an American, I see my own government as an enemy.

The 2nd Amendment is a joke, realistically. Like, it's cool having guns, but we live in a surveillance state. All the people that are hardcore "I'd die for my country" are usually pretty nationalist, so they mostly support the surveillance state. We have all the bread and circuses, too. But as that changes, maybe the public might do something?

I don't know. I'm shocked at how he's just been allowed to do what he's doing. But I don't know what I as an individual can do when there's not an ounce of class consciousness in America, other than slowly educate people. That also assumes anyone will find the time to organize outside of their 40-60 hour work weeks. Or that certain outside forces won't intervene. Maybe it's not as much common knowledge outside the US, but subversion tactics by the 3 letter agencies are in practice on basically everything that challenges the status quo, from the KKK to any real left-wing movements.

I can’t blame your dad, but it would take someone having a lot of skill and knowledge that the average person doesn’t have to get rid of him; there were two attempts in 2024, so his security is beefed up and likely not going to make the same mistakes again. Not to mention the fact that it would make him a martyr with his rabid base like it did with Charlie Kirk. On top of that, there would be jd Vance taking over, which is better bc he doesn’t have the backing that Trump has, but he’s still an asshole too and they have a propaganda machine behind them that’s extremely effective at riling up the base.

The issues here are 100% systemic and unfortunately require either congress to get their shit together or tearing the whole system down, which would require a lot of people banding together. Hopefully democracy stays intact for the midterms and we’re able to change some things as a result. At least if it doesn’t, it should be the catalyst for approaching things nondemocratically on a mass scale.

Until then, it’s worth mentioning that everyone can boycott American products and push for their governments to enact sanctions. If the economy tanks under Trump, it’s probably a lot easier to get his base to turn on him.

I appreciate holding everyone accountable. The bit about the 2nd amendment is very, very stupid if he literally believes it. But that said, we are doing far far less than we could to resist.

The way I see it is that the majority of the us population enabled an obvious paedophile and russian stooge to be president. But not just the once though, oh no. They did it twice. FUCKING TWICE.
They also had 4 years in-between to sort the obese imbecile out and imprison him for his blatant and obvious treachery and many other crimes...but did fuck all.

Also running up to the second time the orange cunt actually told everyone he was going down the dictator route and they still either voted for it, or enabled it by not voting at all.

I'm curious where your dad lives. I don't necessarily disagree with that, but America's such a dominant force in the world politically and economically that it's hard to avoid America and Americans.

If America is the enemy, does your dad refuse to deal with the enemy? Does he avoid all American products? Refuse to deal with any service offered by an American company? Refuse to speak to Americans? In some countries where the economy is so closely intertwined with the US one, that would be really hard. But, maybe there are countries where you can actually treat the US as an enemy country and fully cut the US out of your life completely.

I’m not quite there yet but my default position with each individual now is that they aren’t trustworthy.
